International Compliance and Logistics Information

Are you an International vendor for The Neiman Marcus Group, Inc.? If your Purchase Order terms are ex-factory (ex-works) or FOB freight forwarder in a country other than the United States, then you are an International Vendor.

If not, then you are considered a Domestic Vendor and will need to move to the Domestic Vendor section of this website to obtain the proper instructions for moving your merchandise.

This site has been developed to assist you with improving the flow of merchandise from your facility, to a freight forwarder and then clearing the goods into the commerce of the United States.  In order to do that successfully, there are many things that must happen in a certain order.  If you are a new vendor, then you should have been contacted by a Foreign Buying Agent.   They will help direct you through the steps that you must follow.

Once a purchase order has been placed with you, this website is designed to walk you through the various requirements that must be met to move your merchandise from your dock to our selling locations timely and efficiently.  Begin with Item Classification to help NMG properly classify your merchandise and then read the US Government and State Regulations to be sure you understand all labeling, testing and certifications that are required at the point of import into the US.

Once you have completed the compliance requirements, then you will be ready to start packing and moving the merchandise.  Please read the Vendor Compliance and Shipping Documents sections carefully as these areas allow the merchandise to move quickly through all Government agencies and through the NMG Distribution Centers.

NMG is intent upon being compliant with all requirements, therefore we will visit your factories periodically in order to certify that all safety requirements are being followed.  You can read more about these visits in Factory Inspections.
